There is a new show that is growing in popularity, "Underground Boss." What is different with the show? The bigwig of the company, namely the CEO, COO or President disguises himself and pretends to be an entry level employee, so he can be followed by the cameras! The undercover boss tells his management staff that he wants to see and know what is going on in his company and nobody should betray his disguise! After he accomplishes his goal, the employees he had contact with get summoned to his office. He tells them his true identity, and he tells them he wants to correct the shortcomings of his organization, and vows to improve it! Some even get good breaks with the company!!! He leaves his family and his life of leisure, stays in a motel to accomplish his goal. He visits his company from different places and chooses a task which he performs together with the employee. Some find the work really hard as seen by the White Castle owner Dave Rife. He was given the task of making bread. What did he do? He failed! Big Time!!! You should have seen him with the bread machine!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! As a result, he ruined thousands of bread. It is a good thing he did not get fired!!! I did not know that the White Castle makes their own bread, and they have a big factory! Of course, they do. For one thing, they can control their inventory and prices, and do not have to wait for a company to deliver their bread! I learn something new everyday! Now , he has a greater respect to his employees at what they do for the company! Then, there is the 7-11 CEO and President Joe de Pinto, who got moved by the story of his delivery driver working nights all the time and barely see his family! He gave him one 7-11 store to manage to correct the situation! How about the clerk/cashier at night that works and study? He was given a slew of 7-11 stores to manage!!! A good conclusion! But I am still kind of suspicious, how do they handpicked which location to go to, and which employees to choose to " sort of do the training to him?" Do these employees even have a hint? I cannot see if they do, because when they are summoned to go somewhere, the employees do not have a clue where they were going. They seem to not know that they were going to see the CEO, COO or President , so he can reveal his true identity! The faces of the employees are of shock and disbelief once he tells them his true identity!!! Are these episodes live and as is, or they have been retaken, cut and paste and doctored? I do not know. Does anyone know????How about the Hooters President and CEO, Larry O'Donnell, who cannot bear to watch how the manager on one of the Hooters location mistreat and humiliate the Hooters girls! He would place beans on plates, and let them eat it without touching the plate! The object: the one who finishes first can go home early. This was sooooo disgusting and is an inappropriate behavior on the part of the manager!!! The CEO was so disgusted by the look on his face! What happened to the crummy manager? He was reprimanded and still holds the position!!! That is dumb! He should have been fired! Fired! Fired! Fired!!! He is demoralizing the women at Hooters! Did any of the CEO got fired? One, and that is Larry O'Donnell, President and COO of Waste Management. He was not able to pick up trash in an allotted time given to him, so he was fired! It was in one of the garbage dumping grounds and it was windy. He had a terrible time picking the garbage up. After several attempts, the supervisor fired him. Yup! He got fired!!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! He said this is the first time in his life that he got fired!!!! There is always a first, somewhere, huh, Larry? There was also Michael Rubin, CEO of GSI Commerce, the billion dollar e-commerce grant. I was not able to see the episode so I presume it is more or less the same, with the ending of some people getting a promotion or raise. The episode that just aired is with Joel Manby, President and CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment. The story line is basically the same. In this one, he met a young man that has been working with the company for a few years, studying and working at the same time. His ambition? To replace the CEO of the company!!! What can Joel say to that? Nothing! Hey, the kid has a big ambition!!! Hurray to him! At the meeting, Joel Manby announced to the young man that he is going to give him a full scholarship so he can study full time, his pay will still be for 40 hours! The only thing he wants in return is for the young man to work on the summers that he is off from school!! A Cindirella story? Or perhaps a Cindirello story?? Why can't all the really BIG cormpanies and corporations send their CEO'S,COO, or President to this program? This will be a wakeup call for them with their companies on how the workers do and feel for their management team and how the work is done!!! Perhaps, they will find something that will be better that will be beneficial to both employers and employees! Then maybe, there will be no bickering, only peace, quiet, compassion and productivity in all work places!!!! A big dream?? Maybe, maybe not!!!
