American Idol is in high gear with two new judges! Who are the judges? Newcomers Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and oldtimer, " the Dawg" Randy Jackson! Jennifer Lopez is really pretty and sexy! Will she be a good addition or a distraction for people on the show??? Ha! Ha! Ha! That is a very good question! We will have to wait and see! One thing I did not know is that Tyler and J. Lo are compassionate people! Why do you say that? When a contestant begs to be included to go to Hollywood, Randy cannot be moved...but she was able to get the two new judges to change their minds! Wow! Will they be like this on the succeeding idol performances?
One of the audition was held in New Orleans...the home of the Mardi Gras, beads, and costumes. There were some good ones like the 15 year old Jacee Badeaux. I thought the minimum age is 16? I was surprised to see so many 16 year olds that have gone through the auditions! I guess this is a good way to earn money and pursue a dream! Whose dream? The youngster or their parents? What do you guys think? Comments?
Then there was Paris Tassin who made J Lo cry with her singing. And then there was the contestant Jovany Barreto that took off his shirt for J Lo. That was the cue for Randy and Steven who were probably dying to show their sorry looking abs! LOL. That is sooo hilarious when Tyler and Randy came onstage to show their abs, which was sooo pale in comparison with Barreto's abs or 6 pack! Why is it called 6 pack anyway? I thought at first it was called 6 pack because of the 6 pack beer that many men love to drink! Ha! Ha! Ha! You thought it is the beer belly? Ay..ya..yay.... The beer belly would not show the stomach muscles that lean. It will be a rather obese stomach and the man's body will be shaped like a pear! Should I continue? No, we got it!
Well, I think we will have an interesting idol show this season. Do you think that the idol ratings will go up with the addition of the two ever popular celebrities? Maybe, maybe not! It will be nicer though with mean Simon Cowell out! But Simon made the ratings go up with his constant snide remarks! Well, you never know what the fans out there really like. That is true. So, we have to wait and see. After all, it is a show with laughs and heartaches. What do you mean? Well, for one thing, there are so many auditioneers that cannot sing! Don't these people know they cannot sing? They go on television to be humiliated? Well, they want a 15 seconds fame, what can I say? How about those that begs to continue? Well, at least they have a free trip to Hollywood! Don't the American Idol shoulder the expenses for each contestant? That alone is a prize for some...to travel and see Hollywood! Comments?

Today is already January 18, 2011! Time flies whether you are having fun or not! Right? Right... life goes on...whether we like it or not, the next day comes, no ifs, no buts! My goodness...it is almost the end of January. Seems we just celebrated Christmas and New Year. Pretty soon, it will be Valentine's Day! Is it me or the stores are in a hurry for the next shopping spree of people? There are sooo many items for Valentine's Day already! In fact, I could not resist the temptation to buy the M & M's peanut and peanut butter! And the colors are just soo pretty...pink, white and red! We are just winding down on the last Christmas red and green M & M's peanuts and almonds!
What is new? Same old things? Well, there are a few new items....let us start with the Golden Globes award emceed by the most nasty Rick Gervais! I hope we have seen the last of him in the Golden Globes! He was mean to many people, for example Bruce Willis, whom he called Ashton Kutcher's father; Robert Downey Jr in reference to the Betty Ford clinic and the Los Angeles County jail! His last remark was ,"Thank God for I am an atheist!" which I really do not get! He is one such nincompoop person! Did he think he was funny? Well, enough for this nasty, mean person. As usual, there were so many beautiful people in the Golden Globes...Angelina Jolie looked stunning in her green gown and Brad Pitt and her looked so good together! What is wrong with Johnny Depp...he was constantly chewing like a goat! Oh, oh, now you are a meanie also! Sorry but I could not help notice him chomping away the chewing gum, I presume!
Have you seen the Snazzy Napper? It is a navy blue travel blanket with many zzzzzzzz's! It is tied around the head, covering the eyes and breathing through a nose hole. How about that? I guess that will be a better sight than seeing someone drooling, plus the person that snores loud will be sort of incognito! How about that...come on..shall we order one for our next trip? Hmmmm......Are you a spokesperson for Snazzy Napper? Are you an agent? Ha! Ha! Ha! No, I am not, it just look ridiculous and funny on the head of a person! Next....

I really admire the new Miss America, 17 year old Teresa Scanlan ( Miss Nebraska). She is wise beyond her years. Wow!!! When she was proclaimed the winner...she pointed up...that really shows about her faith and her character! She will make an excellent Miss America and a goodwill ambassador for this country!
Symptoms of stroke: STR. Ask the person to Smile (S), T is to talk and speak a simple sentence, R is to raise both arms. If a person has trouble with any of this, call the emergency number immediately! A new sign of stroke is to ask the person to stick the tongue out. If it is crooked or goes to either side, call 911!

Undercover Boss, 01092011
The latest undercover boss is the President and CEO, Ronald Croatti of Unifirst. What is Unifirst? It is one of the largest producers of uniforms and workwear in the United States. He joined his father and company founder Aldo Croatti in 1965. Wow! That is a long time in one company! He must really know what is going on all over the company! Cindy, his sister is the executive VP and Michael, his son, is regional VP. He met his wife...where else? at the New Kensington location 35 years ago where she was employed! Wow! That is a good love story.... the boss falling in love with an employee! Lucky her! A Cinderella story? I do not know. Who knows? Maybe she belongs to a well off family too that just wants to work! Enough of this!
Unifirst has more than 200 locations and 10,000 employees. Since he became president in 1995, they have doubled their business and in 2008 exceeded annual revenues of $1 billion! And the business is just manufacturing, selling and process uniforms, as well as clean and press them! Oh my gosh! That is a hard word for employees!
Croatti's first stop is the Sew Seal department with Dee Dee. They sew emblems to the clothing and heat seal the ID tags. Employees can do 100 heat seals an hour...it is a good thing they work on incentives! That is a very hard, monotonous, back breaking job! What was Dee Dee's reward for being with the CEO? A promise to pay her day care costs for a year and $5,000 to go back and finish school!
Next stop was Sumter, South Carolina with Squeeky. All they have to do is fold aprons and put them in plastic bags! Even that was not an easy task for Croatti! What do you expect from an older CEO? After all, he is in his 60's and probably have arthritic hands! Ha! Ha! Ha! Sorry, I could not resist! What did Squeeky get out of this? Since she is getting married soon, Croatti would pay for her honeymoon in Hawaii and will be promoted to supervisory status!
The laundry facility was the next stop which process 150,000 lbs of laundry every week with Tony! I am glad it was a man..he will have more muscles to load and unload the humongous machines! Croatti even found it hard to untie the bags! My! My! My! I was going to say something, but never mind! Good!! Zip your mouth! Tony's reawrd? He and his son are going to the Super Bowl! Croatti even gave Tony $5,000 to visit his family in New Jersey more often? That is it? No long term compensation??? Hmmmm......
The last job was in the plant to press shirts and check for holes, missing buttons, etc with Julie. Croatti was helpless in this field! What do you expect? Julie also showed him how she worked with the maintenance crew to extend the railing to make it easier for shipping, and thus save 1/2 hour a day! Julie's reward? $5,000 for the idea and offered her to pay her rent for a year, so she and her kid could move out of the half way house to an apartment! That is really great!
When I saw the episode, I cannot help but laugh at Croatti's transformation to a hippie, big, bushy hair and a mustache that would not stay put! Ha! Ha! Ha! It was really hilarious! Wonder who will be next undercover boss? I guess we will have to wait and see!

Just Plain Talk
There are so many interesting topics for discussion that has emerged recently. One of them is about the dead birds falling from the sky! It is not only birds but also dead fishes and crabs that are washed ashore. And this is not only in one area! It is happening in America, Europe and Asia! What is going on? Some people are suggesting that we are in the end times? Are we? Are we ready to meet our Maker? I do not really want to think about this...but if it is going to make the world a better place for the chosen few...so be it! Although, perhaps...maybe... we can pray and ask God for His mercy and forgiveness and spare the world for now?
Then there is the deadly shooting of 6 people by a 22 year old outside a Tucson, Arizona grocery store! What made him do this? The news are branding him as mentally unstable who kept to himself! Why was the Arizona representative Gabrielle Giffords targeted? There are so many questions that only the accused can answer. What is happening to our dear world? Will this be the end of guns and the beginning of gun control that the UN has been trying to push? Sorry but that came to my mind! Am I just paranoid of all that is going through in our society today? Comments, anyone??
What about the impending Internet ID for America? US Commerce department will be given the authority by the President as a cyberssecurity effort....so they say! After this...what's next? Seems we are really losing our freedom slowly but surely! Any thoughts about this issue?
On a lighter note...there is a contest at Wheel of Fortune for a " Vanna for a Day!" Is Vanna getting too old for the producers, so they are trying someone to replace her? How about Pat Sajak? Did he not come together with Vanna? If Vanna is to be replaced, but Pat will continue with his role...would that not be a discrimination issue for Vanna? And you know who wants the part and auditioning? None other than Kelly Ripa! I hope the producers give the ordinary people a chance for the role...not some hot shot celebrities who are already earning millions of dollars!

Fashion 2011
Fashion 2011. You are really going to talk about fashion? Are you a fashionista? Are you a fashion police? Are you a model or a fashion designer? In my own way, I am all of the above! Wow! You are sooo daring to say that! Do you go out all dolled up? No, I am comfortable with my jeans and sweats! Mama mia!!!! The fashion police will be after you! Oh, well, this is a free country, sort of...I can do what I want to do with clothes and I can say what I want to say, is it not? You are right! Sock it to us! Sigh!!!
Guess what is being added to the usual animal prints of zebra, leopard, cheetah and snake prints? Peacock! Wow! I think that can be really exciting and glamorous! Peacocks are very pretty and colorful birds! Can you just imagine wearing peacock feather headbands, peacock earrings and peacock prints? My goodness, if you do that, you will really be the talk of a party or gathering! Let them be...they are just jealous because they do not have peacock paraphernalia! LOL. You got that right, babe!
How about the color for 2011? I would prefer red, but what is it? Honeysuckle! It is reddish pink. Is that the same honeysuckle flower that has a sweet, edible nectar that I used to gather and sip? Yes, it is! Great! It is then still red color! Yipee!!!! I do not have to buy any honeysuckle clothes!!! Excuse me, it is reddish pink, not red! It is in the same family! Gosh! I cannot win with you! Move on to the next agenda!
Pants! The bell bottoms are back! Goodness gracious..I disposed of those a long time ago! Well, it is good, it would not fit you anyway! Who said? You! Oooppsss..you got me there! Ha! Ha! One point for you! Together with the bell bottoms goes the high waists. So, goodbye to skinny jeans? Not really. I like both kinds..skinny pants and wide leg pants. It does not matter whether I am following the fashion or not....I will wear it if I like it! Do you have a problem with that? Oh, Oh, Testy! Testy! Testy!
How about skirts? Say sayonara to mini skirts...here comes full skirt! Well, well well, no more peeps for the guys! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Shoes? Say bye bye to sky high heels and welcome to kitten heels! I really am not sure how women can walk and be gracious with those sky high heels! It looks good but it seems really hurtful to dear old feet! Any comments?
How about eyeglasses? Cat eye glasses from the 50's and 60's are back! I did not have any. I do not know but I just did not like it! Speaking of eyeglasses, there is a new eyeglass for people that need bifocal or trifocal. There are no lines and you can just adjust your focus at the side! It will probably cost an arm and a leg! Ingenious, whoever invented this. Sounds good!
Pajama jeans. That is out! Too bad, I have not even bought any. What is it? It has a denim look and soft feel of cotton and spandex. You can sleep on it, roll out of bed and go out shopping! Yuck! Would that be too smelly? Are we becoming lazy people that we do not even want to change our clothes when we go out? Or is it the sign of the times that people do not really care about anything anymore? Maybe. But please do not go to that subject...we are talking about fashion, nothing else! Got it? Okay!
There you go folks. Are we ready to go shopping for the latest fashion???? Or we will just stay with our old clothes???? The choice is yours....it is only Saturday! Live To Dance, 01052011
There is a new reality show on the tube! And it is a dance competition which is emceed by Australian Andrew Gunsberg. Who is Gunsberg? Where did he come from? I mean..what show was he on? I so not know and who cares? At least there is a familiar judge on the roster...Paula Abdul , a former American Idol judge! The other 2 judges were : longtime Michael Jackson choreographer Travis Payne and former Pussycat doll Kimberly Wyatt.
The audition was a combination of young people and old people! The audition in Los Angeles started with a 9 year old hip hop dancer, Jalen. He was adorable and the cameramen kept focusing Jalen's father in tears! A cry baby, indeed! He must really be happy and he could smell the $500,000 prize money! Ya, Baby.....$500,000! There was also the seniors Bev, 83 and Hap, 68, that wowed the audience with their jazz and funky routine! My goodness... how could she still move like that??? Unbelievable!!!! Bev.....you are an inspiration to seniors all over the world!
How about the audition in New York? There was a 90 year old lady, Bonnie Buchner who can still tap dance! Wow, that is amazing! How about the contortionist? The kids dressed like zombies ? Or the 1 guy with a bunch of ladies twitching? Or the young ballroom dancers D'Angelo and Amanda?
There were indeed many talented dancers last night! The auditions still continues tonight, which I think I will be watching. It is okay, but it seems it is missing something which I could not fathom what! Have you guys seen it? Do you know what I mean? Perhaps, it is the first show..and hopefully it will be better on the next show! We shall see!!!

Doom & Gloom Predictions
Many predictions have surfaced at the end of 2010...continuing to 2011. Are these true or just rumors? Does not really know...but hope they are only rumors!
America has more debts than anyone in the whole world! US government can just print money when they want since it owns the world's reserve currency! What will happen when the US loses the reserve currency status?? All of the prices for everything will soar! Heaven forbids! There are already a few countries that are no longer using the dollar for trading, instead they are using their own currencies! A group of us were discussing this and everyone thought that the Americans are wise and savvy with regards to money, so this will not happen! Any comments concerning this?
There is a prediction that the housing market will continue to fall! How much lower can it fall? Is it like the limbo stick that cannot fall any lower, otherwise no one can go through! Ay..ya..yay! How about the stock market? It is also a gloomy prediction. A gloomy prediction too for the unemployment, homelessness and economy! Is it true that the US has the second highest corporate tax in the world? The higher tax is because of the government regulations., and not because of labor! What can be done about this? That is for the economists and experts to figure out! Is it true that more than 10 % of the US population is now on food stamps? That is over 40 million people! Yikes! That is really sad....very sad!
What can we as citizens do? Pray...pray...pray....Prayers really help! Miracles do exist! Rumor or not, it will not be bad to pray for our country to overcome all its problems and turn around to make this nation a great place to live once again with freedom and justice to all!

America has more debts than anyone in the whole world! US government can just print money when they want since it owns the world's reserve currency! What will happen when the US loses the reserve currency status?? All of the prices for everything will soar! Heaven forbids! There are already a few countries that are no longer using the dollar for trading, instead they are using their own currencies! A group of us were discussing this and everyone thought that the Americans are wise and savvy with regards to money, so this will not happen! Any comments concerning this?

New Year, 2011
Happy New Year to all!!! The year 2011 is now here!! Any different about it? Not really...seems liked just another day that came! I completely disagree with you! It came amidst fanfare, revelry and preparation by many people from all over the world!! You mean you did not prepare for it? Well, just a little...cooked some food to eat for midnight when the clock struck 12 to herald the New Year!! See...everybody was eager for 2010 to end!
Why was everyone ready for 2011? It is a new day... a new year full of hope for many, many people! When 2011 ushered in, people are praying that 2011 will be a better year....with regards to unemployment, housing, health care and economy! How? It cannot be done just overnight...it takes time! Well, maybe if the government work together regardless of their party affiliation, then, maybe, all the problems that this country has will be resolved!
Let us take a look at the economy. People were willing to help the economy! Look at the number of people that spent money during Christmas! It sure was very impressive indeed! But how about unemployment? That is still something to be desired! Unemployment is still high! Jobs are still being outsourced because of the cheap labor in other countries! Then how are the unemployed going to get jobs? I do not know...we need a miracle to have jobs for the unemployed! How about housing? I heard that there were many people that applied for a mortgage last month! If you have money, this is the best time to buy a house because there are a lot of houses that are sold with bargain prices!
Since 2011 is the year before the presidential election, then 2011 should be a booming year for everyone! After all, the politicians would be wooing the public so they can get their names in the positive side of the people! Am I right or what? But what will that do? The government cannot spend more money since they already have billions of debts! Print more money? Which comes to my mind...why is it that the government can just print money? If an individual did that, they will be arrested? Ha! Ha! Ha! You are nincompoop! Those are two different things! Besides the US dollar is the world money reserve, that is why they can print money anytime they want! Is that right?? Comments, anyone??
The US dollar though is going down in value, that is the reason why other countries are now trying to use their money for trading! If the value of the dollar is down, wouldn't that be good? Why? People would come To the United States to buy products since their money will be worth more! There will also be more tourists coming, is it not? That is sooo true! That is good and dandy for the outsiders, but how about the locals? Food prices are soo outrageous..will people be able to afford to buy groceries??? There ned to be something done so people would be able to afford the necessities in life!
How about gas? That is another story! Gasoline prices are on average $3.09/ gallon! That is outrageous! I think this will prevent many people to travel! Well, it is not only the gas prices that is preventing people to travel. What do you mean? How about the groping and scanning of TSA's in the airports??? People's comcerns have died down....they just do not travel! Why? Has there been a decline of air travelers? I do not know but I think people should not travel by air so the TSA will change their groping and scanning of passengers! Comments, please!!
Well, well, well, there was quite a long list of issues from 2010, is it not? Do you think it will be resolved for the better for 2011?? We all should just keep praying to God to bless and turn everything ugly in America to a beautiful and compassionate place to live! Let us all be a bunch of optimists for a better America!!!
