REVIEW OF ARBY'S RESTAURANT JANUARY 31, 2022

Woohoo!!!  Another fast food joint?  You bet! This is the most affordable restaurant nowadays, is it not? I do not know about that. Going out to eat is getting really expensive. But getting a carry out is cheaper by all means than eating in a sit down fancy restaurant, plus you have to pay tip. That is so true. Anyway, let us get back to my review.

A little bit of history....Arby's is an American fast foods sandwich chain with more than 3300 system wide and third in terms of revenue. It was founded in Boardman, Ohio on July 23, 1964 by Forrest and Leroy Raffel, restaurant equipment business owners, who thought there was a market opportunity for a fast food franchise other than hamburgers. Are they not geniuses to think about that? Don't we all wish we have minds like that? Oh, well. Anyway, do you know where the name Arby's came from? No? Let me tell you. It was from the initials of Raffel Brothers...R.B., often mistaken for roast beef. It is a flagship property of Inspire Brands who also took ownership of Buffalo Wild Wings on February 58, 2018. Did you know that? Now you know. Go ahead, tell everyone. Then they will think you are smart. Ha! Ha! Ha! Enough! OMG! What is wrong with you? I just want to go back to my review before I forget what I have to say. Is that alright? Yes, go ahead.

As usual, it was a carryout. It was a family pack ( $12.00), consisting of a choice of 2 sandwiches ( I chose Beef and Cheddar sandwiches), 4 sliders ( I chose 2 Buffalo sliders and 2 roast beef sliders), 4 small curly fries, and 1 order of jalapeno bites (8 piece) with2 broncoberry dip. I also ordered 2 Greek gyro ( 2 for $6.00). Total cost with tax: $19.08. That was a lot of food for that price. Why? Coupon! Yes, coupons! Do not leave home without a coupon!

How was the food? Actually, they were really good. The beef and cheddar sandwiches were delicious, complete with the sauce, jalapeno bites were awesome and sliders were also good. I was surprised with the gyros. They were really good! Will I buy it again? Of course! There you go. If you are tired of hamburgers, roast beef is a very good alternative.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

This is all. Until next time.

A REVIEW OF BURGER KING JANUARY 19, 2022

Burger King. What? Another fast food restaurant? You must be a fast food lover? Well, yes and no. Yes, because the cost is reasonable, it can satisfy hunger and you do not have to cook. Am I right? I see heads bobbing up and down. No, because after a while, you get tired of eating hamburgers and pizza and I think there is not a lot of nutrition in these foods. Am I also right on this? Come on nutritionists, say something!

Before I proceed, let us have a little history of Burger King. Burger King (BK) is a multinational American chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, based in Miami-Dade County, Florida. BK was founded as Insta-Burger King in Jacksonville, Florida in 1953. In 1954, 2 franchisees, David Edgerton and James McLamore purchased it and renamed it Burger King.Whopper became the BK signature product in 1957. As of December 31, 2018 it has 17,796 outlets in 100 countries, half in the United States.

Back to my review:

I bought a family special which consist of 3 whoppers, 3 Junior whoppers and 3 small fries. Cost was $13.76 including a 6 % tax. Not bad? Yes. It was cheap. How come? Coupon! Do you not buy anything without a coupon? You said it. Coupon! Coupon! Coupon! Don't leave home without it! That is why I have quite a bit of coupons at home and in my purse! Wow! How about that? Ha! Ha! Ha!

Well, how was it? The whoppers were good, as usual, hamburgers with tomatoes, mayonnaise, lettuce, a little slice of onion and pickles. Pickles were too sour for me that I had to remove it. I think I remembered the whopper being so much bigger and more tastier. When? Probably many, many moons ago? Ha! How come you do not want to say the year? We will know that you are ancient? Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh my gosh! Stop it! Why are you grilling me? I am the reviewer! Please keep quiet. Yes, madam. Anyway, have you heard the word inflation? Everything is expensive nowadays, so stop complaining. Let me get back to my review.

The Junior whopper was not as good. It is smaller with the mayonnaise and mustard. I ended adding tomatoes and lettuce on it to make it better. I wonder if they forgot the mayonnaise, lettuce and onions? The french fries were good, but it could have been more crispy. What do you expect with $13.00 hamburgers and fries? Plus if you want a made to order hamburgers and fries, make it yourself! That is sooo true. That is why I have an indoor grill, except it takes time to make the patties and grill. But you are so right, homemade hamburgers are better and tastier. Except when you buy it, you do not have to clean up afterwards. True. To buy or not to buy? That is the million dollar question! Oh, well.

Take care. Until next time.

CHICKEN SHACK REVIEW JANUARY 11, 2022

Chicken! Chicken! Chicken! Are you tired of chicken? Perhaps. But there is nothing else to eat that is cheap except chicken, burgers and pizza! Don't you think chicken is better than pizza? Oooops.... I see many pizza lovers giving me a dirty look. So sorry. That is my cue to stop and go back to my topic.....chicken!

What is my order? An order of super ( 12 piece chicken, whole slab of ribs and 2 sides) $50.99, and an order of large mushroom ( $8.49). Cost: $62.33. Since the order was online, there was a 20 % discount. Final cost: $50.43.

Was the food good? We have ordered from Chicken Shack before, but it was always by phone or in the store. This is the first time that we ordered online and it was the day before.

The chicken was broasted. What is broasted chicken? It is fried in oil inside a pressure cooker. The broasting technique began in 1954 when American businessman and inventor, L. A. M. Phelan combined parts of a deep fryer and pressure cooker as a way to cook chicken more quickly. With his invention, Phelan trademarked the words "broaster" and "broasted food ." Broasted chicken is healthier,  have less calories and up to 40 - 70 % less fat than frying. Why is that? Broasting uses only 1/4 cup of oil compared to 1 and 1 1/2 cup of oil for frying. Wow! You think you are smart now? Yes! Jealous, that I know this? Ha! Ha! Ha! Show off! Anyway, back to my topic....

I thought the chicken were kind of hard. I was wondering if the chicken were cooked a long time ago since the order was the day before? It did not taste fresh. Really? Yes. I know fresh chicken since I have eaten many. And then, there were 3 wings in the box. Three very small wings! I wonder if these were not from a chicken??? Did you eat it? Yes, I did. I did not want to eat it, but I was curious and did not want it to go to waste. How did it taste? Hard and alright. Oh, well. I learned my lesson. Which?? I will not order a day ahead!!

The slab of ribs were really good. It was probably because of the sauce, which reminded me of sweet Baby Ray sauce. The 2 sides were onion rings ( really good) and broasted potatoes with lots of butter ( there goes the calories!).

The broasted mushrooms were really good. It was the first one to be finished, as usual. Yummy!

Please feel free to comment or give suggestions.

That is all for now. Until next time. Take care.

JET'S PIZZA REVIEW JANUARY 5, 2022

Jet's pizza review. Another pizza place? You must really like pizza! You got it babe! It is one of the inexpensive, filling, super fast carry out in America! Are you ready? Yes, sir!!

First, a little history of Jet's pizza. It first opened in 1978 by brothers Eugene and John Jetts in a vacant party store converted into a restaurant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Founder Eugene was about to buy a new home, but on the way there, his passion for pizza took over. The rest is history. Back to my carry out of Jet's pizza.

My order? A large deep dish Jet 10 ($ 18.99), best of Jet's small, ($9.99) and a chocolate chip cookie( $6.99). Total cost  = $38.13. Whoa! That is very expensive! It sure is. I did not pay that price. Why? Because I had a coupon.Coupon, Baby cakes, C...O....U...P...O...N! You have to have coupons nowadays to buy everything. That's it, but oftentimes, you do not have coupons. And coupons are getting scarce now, is it not? How much did I pay? $25.13! That is still expensive, but it is better than $38.13.

Was it good? The Jet 10 was really good, with 10 different meats on it. The Jet's small was a 4 corner, 4 piece pepperoni and cheese. It was very good with very crispy edge. Crispy edge? Like chips? How about crunchy edge? Crispy, crunchy....what's the difference? Ha! Ha! Ha! How about the cookie? The cookie was big, in a small pizza box. It was good, but the chocolate chip cookies I make is better. Really? Why don't you sell your cookies to Jet's? Hmmmm...that's a thought.

I could not believe that pizza is very expensive. You better believe it! Nothing is cheap now. If you want to save a little bit of your hard earned money, start cooking at home. But that is easily said than done. The cost of groceries are way too high also. But what can we do? Start raising your own pigs, cows etc? How? You cannot if you live in the city. Then just keep quiet and pray, and maybe the economy will get better?

Any comments or suggestions?

That's all folks! Take care. Until next time.
