The 82nd annual Oscar awards was just over. The glitz, glamour, beautiful outfits and beautiful people [ what do you mean? The movie stars are not the only ones that are beautiful! We are all beautiful, in our own ways. If we put all that makeup ( just dunk your face on a lot of flour! It is cheaper! Ha! Ha!)], nice dresses, then we can be mistaken as one of them!!! Okay, you are right! Anyway, Hollywood went all out again to show the world how glamorous their lifestyle is. Are you jealous? Not a bit! Be honest! Maybe a little bit? How about you guys out there? A little bit? Or more than a little bit jealous? Enough! Let's get back to the Oscars.First of all, why is it called Oscar, and not Oscara? Oscara! How dumb! Maybe that is why it was not called Oscara, Oscara does not sound right! Phoey!!!! But nevertheless, isn't that discrimination against women? Why is it always have to be a man? After all, men and women became movie stars at the same time, isn't it? Anybody out there knows why it was called Oscar? Where was it derived and where did it originate? It will be interesting to know. Here we go again, trying to dig up the past. Let it rest! The best picture award did not go to Avatar. I saw James Cameron 's face when they announced that the winner was Hurt Locker! He had a long face, like he did not believe it. It was directed by who else? His ex-wife! Kathryn Bigelow! How ironic can that be? I think he was so dissapointed to have lost, and let alone to his ex-wife!!! And mind you, she also snatched the best director award from him! Ha! Ha! James. Better luck next time. He will probably say he taught her everything she needs to know about directing to save face! Leave it James and be a good sport! After all, look at your face, your smile is from ear to ear, on yor way to the bank! You made the most money in a movie ever made! The last count: 2 billion dollars!!! What more do you want??? This is the first time a woman won! Ya, Kathryn, way to go!! Women have really come a long way! Women are starting to thread the once male dominated careers, and women slowly are conquering what used to be a male dominated field. Hurt Locker has garnered 6 awards! What will that do to the impending suit being filed, accusing the writer of taking the story from someone? More $$$$$ baby, to the accuser, since Hurt Locker was a big winner!!! It will probably be settled out of court for lots and lots of moolah!!! The best actress was won by Sandra Bullock, for Blindside. I have not seen the movie, but it looks like a tearjerker. I will just wait until it comes on video...it will be cheaper, and nobody will see me cry! I can use as much tissues ( how much tissues are you intending to use? You should buy more boxes then!, )and can cry as hard as I want to, to my hearts content! Boo.. Hoo.. Hoo! Oh, wow!! But I think you are " El Cheapo"! That is right, with today's economy, you have to hold on to your last penny! Sanda Bullock's dress was stunning, to my opinion. I did not like, though , her hair. It made her look older. It seems like there was soooo much gel or hairspray, that not even one hair is out of place! Then that is good, is it not, for she has to wait for a long time to accept the most coveted trophy? The hairdresser could have made her hair framing her pretty face a little softer. Am I the only one who thinks this way? Answer me guys! Who cares???? I noticed she did not thank her dear old hubby? She probably forgot with all the excitement! Will he care? We will see, but hopefully not. He should just be thankful she won!!!Jeff Bridges won the best actor award for Crazy Hearts. It was long coming to him. He is a brilliant actor and has been nominated several times. All those times the trophy had been elusive to him. He also has a very strong connection with the film industry, with many relatives in the limelight in the previous years and up to the present. So, guys and gals, do you think the Oscar awardees deserved what they got? Or were there others that were more deserving? Tough!!! It is done! No more turning back! To the rest of the actors and actresses who did not win this time....... There is always tomorrow! Tomorrow, tomorrow.... it's only a day away!!!!!!!!!
