Tomorrow is July 4th. We are celebrating the birthday of the United States of America!!!! Hep! Hep! Hurray!! That is really good, since it falls on a Sunday, we will have Monday off!!! We all can take it easy and sleep late on Monday!!!! Yippeee!!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! Are we going to have a red, white and blue cake to feed our face??? What are you talking about??? We are talking about America's Independence Day, and all you can think off is a day off and a red, white and blue cake!!!! You are hopeless!!! At least I am patriotic!!!! How??? Did I not say red, white and blue cake??? You are sooo craaaazzzzzyyyy!!!!
What is the meaning of July 4th to you??? Goodness, gracious!!! We are not in school!!!! Leave the history and other blah! blah! blah! of this day to the kids in school!!!! What do you think guys? Never mind, do not answer!! Keep quiet, whether you like it or not, I will say something!!! Oh, oh!!! Kidding aside, we should be very thankful to the very courageous leaders of this great country to have the balls ( Oh, oh, can I say this here?? Too late!!!) to go up to the powers of the Kingdom of Great Britain and tell them that they want to be independent!!! What does independence means?? To be able to make your own rules and be able to provide and take care of yourself and be free!!!! Wow!!! That must have been really scary for these people to approach the leaders of the governing country for independence!! It must have taken them much effort and perseverance to get Great Britain to grant them the independence they were asking!! They should be applauded!!! Do you know how long it took them to persuade Great Britain to get their independence? No, I do not. I was not there, that was a very, very long time ago!!! I was not born yet!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ask the history buffs!!!! Any comments????
Thomas Jefferson authored the Declaration of Independence, and on July 4, 1776, the United States got its Independence!!! The courage and persistence of our forefathers paid off. That must have been quite a day when the men signed the declaration paper!!! Did you know that the two founding fathers of the United States, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, became the only two men that signed the declaration and became president??? Both of them died on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the United States. What a coincidence!!!!
We are ever sooo thankful of our freedom that is unheard of in other countries!! That is why, thousands leave their homeland to come to the United States!!! We are the land of the free, the home of the brave and the land of opportunity. A very diverse population that is trying to live their American dream!!!!
How do people celebrate?? Fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games and other festivities!!! There are numerous fireworks display all over the country, including New York City, Chicago, San Diego, Boston and other cities that is too numerous to list!!!
Did you know that the annual Windsor- Detroit International Freedom Festival in Detroit, Michigan is one of the world's larget fireworks display? It is held yearly at the Detroit River to celebrate America's Independence Day, in conjunction with Windsor, Ontario's celebration of Canada Day!!!!
It is now the year 2010, 234 years since the Declaration of Independence. Those are a lot of years that the United States had been basking in glory, and enjoying the freedom that our founding fathers fought hard and died for!!! Let us hope and pray to God that our country will see and enjoy many, many more years of freedom and independence that we have known all of our lives!!!! Let us hope and pray that our leaders will be guided with the right decisions to keep America, the beautiful, a safe, free and independent country that many are jealous of!!! Let us hope and pray that God will always bless America, all its citizens, and the whole world!!! Let us hope and pray that there will be will be peace on earth!!!
Be safe whatever and however you are celebrating this day!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!!!!
