National Day Of Prayer, 2011

President Barack Obama proclaimed May 5, 2011 as the National Day of Prayer for this year. He proclaimed this day on April 29, two weeks after the 7th Circuit Court Of Appeals finally ruled in favor of National Day of Prayer! Hip! Hip! Hooray!!!

This is the day for all Americans to come together - to pray in unison for our beloved nation. This proclamation follows the tradition that goes back to a very long time ago when the Continental Congress called for a day of " public humiliation, fasting and prayer," to be observed on July 20,1775. See my previous blog on Tuesday, 04/27/2010 National Day Of Prayer.

Prayer has played an important part in the United States and in shaping our nation's leaders. We should all be thankful to God for the many blessings and freedom that we are enjoying. So, how about it? Let us all join one another on May 5th and pray for our beloved America! Let us all forget our differences on this day and go hand in hand praying!!! Wouldn't that be really great and pleasing to God? Perhaps if we do this, God will have mercy and spare us all from further disasters and calamities!

May God bless us all!!!!
