The first all female team conquered the latest Amazing Race! This team was really a good team, even though one of them is diabetic and has a fear of heights! Who were the winners? You have to hold your horses a little bit! I do not have a horse! Ha! Ha! You are a nincompoop! You have to have patience, silly!!!
The final leg took the three teams: Jill /Thomas, Nat/Kat and Claire/Brook to travel from Korea to Los Angeles. All teams ended up in the same plane for LA. The first task was bungee jumping from huge cranes at Long Beach Port. Yippeeee!!! That seems fun! But really scary! I do not think it is my cup of tea! Even for the tune of a million dollars! You are just saying that...but I think when you are there the adrenaline rush will keep you doing anything they ask you to! Oh, ya? What do you guys think? Back to bungee jumping....once they accomplish this feat, they can get the next clue!
The next clue send the teams to Pasadena, home of the Rose Bowl. I have never been to the Rose Bowl. Seems like fun, except now they do not use all roses for the floats! Where have you been? They discontinued the practice a longtime ago! Comments, anyone?? The clue sends each team to decorate a float for the Rose Bowl parade. Isn't that too early for the flower decoration for the floats? It is still 3 more weeks to go before the parade! Really! Did you see how hard and meticulous it was to place each of those little bitty flowers on the big floats?? It will take a lot of manpower and hours to decorate a float! I can see that! Once it is successfully accomplish, they can get the next clue!
The clue after this task was some kind of a riddle. to get them to the next destination..... Sancho Panza's master. You will need a computer to get the answer! Nat and Kat's taxi driver was really nice and lent them his phone to call someone. Claire and Brook stopped at a hotel to use a computer, but Jill and Thomas did not have any luck with their taxi driver nor did they stopped at a cafe or hotel...they ended up driving in circles!!! Yikes!!! What were they thinking??? They must have had a brain fart that day! Ha! Ha! Ha!
The final task took them to Don Quixote Stage where they were greeed by Bob Eubanks. Each team had to pick out in order the welcome mat greeters from the flashing game board. Thge first one to arrive were Nat Strand, 31, and Kat Chang, 35. This task need s a very sharp memory. I thought the doctors will breeze though this, but I was wrong! It was Brook Roberts, 27, and Claire Champlin, 30,home shopping hosts that went through this fast! One thing with this duo, they were always giggling and laughing! Lat one to arrive was Jill Haney, 27, and Thomas Wolfard, 30, dating couple!
Who won? None other that the doctor team, Nat and Kat , who was greeted by Phil Keoghan and the rest of the teams!! Congratulations, Nat and kat! Not only did they win a million dollars and 2 or 3 other prizes , but the distinction of the first all woman team to win!!! Hip! Hip! Hooray!!!

Amazing Race, 11072010
This leg of the race took the teams to Russia. Jill and Thomas were the first to arrive from St. Isaac's Cathedral to the Abtobo Circus. The teams then had to choose between Circus Band or Circus Clown. In Circus Band, teams had to choose an accordion player to teach them to play a Russian folksong. When they could correctly perform the 3 songs, they will get the next clue. How hard is that??? If you do not have musicality, I think that is really hard which some teams learned!!! In the Circus Clown, teams had to learn a traditional plate spinning. The 10 plates had to spin simultaneously, That sounds sooo much fun!!! Oh, yeah?? I do not think so!!! I think some of the teams that chose this task had a very hard time with spinning the plates!
The teams then had to find Bank Bridge, the canal bridge guarded by 4 creatures with golden wings. There they will get their next clue which is to travel on foot to 1 Vladimirskiy Street Tower. They have to climb a tower to figure out the small figurine on the ledge to visit the famous St. Petersburg building, the Church On Spilled Blood.
The next clue was to find where Peter the Great was buried. Teams had to ask the locals and some were not able to help them out. This clue took them to Peter and Paul Fortress, where they had to do a Russian game "Gorodki", similar to our bowling. With the use of a wooden bat, one of the teams had to clear all pins in 3 different formation. Once this task is accomplished, they will get the next clue which is to go to the Pit Stop, in the bastion at St. Peter and Paul Fortress.
Kevin and Michael Wu had trouble with the plates, then in Gorodki, Michael Wu decided to do the task, only to find that he is such a weakling that their team ended head to head with Stephanie and Chad in the last place! Kevin and Michael beat Stephanie and Chad in the Gorodki court but not on the Pit Stop. But, they were sent back by Phil Keoghan to settle their bill with their taxi! Come on, Michael and Kevin, you still have a chance!!! Not on your life, missy! The Wu's encountered a 1 hour penalty due to a missed instruction on their clue which specifically says to travel by foot to the tower!!!! A very huge, costly mistake for the Wu's who got eliminated!
Once again, the doctors, Nat and Kat emerged as the leader of the pack! For their reward, they each earned $5,000!!!! This team is really a go getter, an unstoppable team that the other teams had to reckon with!! Way to go, Nat and Kat!!!!!

Amazing Race, 10092010
Amazing Race proved once again to be full of action, nerves gone crazy and dissapointments! In this show the first usually is not the first throughout the show. There are so many hurdles the contestants have to go through and they are not easy tasks for some people. These show is full of physical challenges! Wow! Have you seen the show? Do you think you are physically fit to join the show??? This is one thing with the show....you will win only because of you and your teammate!! No outside votes, no peer voting, no judges, and no rose ceremony!!!
The teams have to travel from Accra to Jamestown to find Akotoku Boxing Academy. The first to depart was Brook and Claire. The task in the Academy was for one team member to properly wrap her hands before suiting up in a training gear. Then they had to successfully work on a speed bag for 60 seconds and jump rope for 60 seconds to get the next clue. Brook had fun completing her task!!!
The next clue was to travel by taxi to Dodowa district to find a marked supply depot, where they had to load a pair of wheelbarrow and load them with construction supply. The supplies had to be delivered to the foreman at the Asebi D/A Primary School where they will get the next clue. Some teams struggled with the wheelbarrow containing the supplies, some took only 1 wheelbarrow instead of 2 and had to go back. Others had trouble manipulating the wheelbarrow.
Once they completed the previous task, they had to enter a village classroom to test their knowledge of African geography! They had to correctly identify Ghana on the African map. Did you think everyone passed with flying colors??? Heck, no!!! That is a shame, they are there and they did not know where it was on the map! They must not have paid attention to where they were! A few teams though identified Ghana correctly on the first try! Once they are done with this task, they are set for the next clue.
The next task was a Detour, which the teams had to choose between Bicycle Parts and Language Arts. Bicycle Parts is a popular African game for children where the bicycle rim had to be rolled across a soccer field with the use of a stick. In Language Arts, the teams had to choose a proverb containing highlighted phrases . The teams then had to search for the corresponding symbol in the native visual alphabet known as Adinkra, which was on a large decorative cloth with hundred of symbols on it. Would you believe that there were only a few team that chose it? Only Connor Diemand- Yauman and Jonathan Schwartz, Ivy League ACapella singers stuck to to it and solved it really fast!!! How did they do it???
The bicycle parts game was harder than it look! Many of the teams got sooo mad because they had to do it several times! The father son team, Michael Wu and Kevin Wu were really having a hard time completing the task. The elder Wu succumbed to the intense African heat that he had to be seen by a doctor! But he had a fighting spirit! Once he got rested and got cooled off, he resumed the task! Way to go, Michael!!! Needless to say, Michael and Kevin were the last team to arrive!! But they received the biggest surprise of the game from Phil Keoghan... that was a non-elimination leg of the race! They had to undergo a speed bump though before they can continue, which the Wu's did not care. At least they are still on the race!!!!
Connor and Jonathan were the first to arrive on the Pit Stop, the home of a local villager, Awuso Nitso. They won $5,000 each!!!! That was a good prize! This show also is good in giving out prizes to the first team that arrives in the pit stop!!! They should, look at all the wear and tear on the bodies of the contestants! Plus they get the prizes free from the companies anyway, or their advertisers! Ha! Do you know how hard it is to ask for a donation??? I rest my case!!!

Amazing Race Season 17, 09262010
Amazing Race started with 11 teams from Gloucester, Massachusetts which is the oldest seaport in America. Their first pit stop is in London where the first team to arrive will be given the Express Pass by Phil Keoghan. The Express Pass is a new element in the game. What is the purpose of the pass? It allows the team that has it to skip a task by handing over the pass before or during the next task to receive the next clue. Per Phil, it could mean staying in the game or going home!!
The first flight out of Logan airport had room only for 3 teams, and was scheduled to land 30 minutes earlier than the second flight. Best friends, Ron Kellum, 45, Director/ Choreographer from Los Angeles and Tony Stovall, 42, from Tucson, Arizona a Doctoral student at the University of Arizona led the way ripping open their clue instructing them to fly to London, England, then drive to Stonehenge. The duo were closely followed by newly dating, Fort Lauderdale, Floridians Chad Waltrip, 26, operations manager and Stephanie Smith,23, hairstylist.
In London, dating partners from Marina del Ray, California Jill Haney, 27, hairstylist and Thomas Wolfard, 30, took the lead out of Heathrow airport followed by Ron and Tony! Each team had to drive a car to Eastnor Castle. This is where it becomes interesting. Do you know how to drive a stickshift car??? No. Well, some of these folks have but they are kind of rusty with the clutch! Nevertheless, here they were in London, Georgians Andie Dekroon,43, stay at home mom with newly found daughter Jenna Sykes, 21, student at the University of Georgia in the middle of the street with their car on a complete stop!!! Cars were honking around them! It is a good thing they did not get in an accident!! A word of advice: Learn how to drive a stick shift before going to another part of the world!
The task was to find Eastnor Castle and climb the castle to retrieve the medieval flag. The castle was guarded by peasants who doused them with dirty water to impede their climb! Once they retrieve the flag, they had to ride an ancient saucer boat to cross the moat to a knight in shining armor!! This is were it became soooo funny!!!! The boat was small and it needs balancing by the two people on it!! Some people took a long time to get the technic and they ended up capsizing the boat!!!! It was soooo hilarious!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! We were really laughing!!!! And some people are big than others, so go figure who succeeded without any problems!!!! Shame on you!!!! Laughing at them for not getting it with the second, third or fourth tries!! Come to think of it, that is really funny! See what I mean!!! The one team that really had a big problem big time was the father son team, Michael Wu, 58, Software Consultant and Content Creator and Kevin Wu, 20, student/ Internet Entertainer from Sugar Land, Texas. They finally were able to balance themselves and cross the moat with the small tortoise shell boat after at least a hundred tries ( I do not know how many tries they had!)! Wonders never cease!!!! Alleluia!!!!!
Once they cross the moat, the team had to use a medieval weapon known as a ballista where one of the teammate had to fire watermelon at a knight standing 50 feet away. Once the armored knight gets knocked down, the team can get the next clue from the jester. This is where the mishap occurred!! Home shopping hosts ClaireChamplin, 30, from Reno, Nevada and Brook Roberts, 27, from San Diego, California were set up to launch the watermelon on the giant slingshot. Claire was on deck with Brook watching when BAM! the watermelon came back to Claire and hit her straight on her face! Ouch!!!! That was totally unexpected and it must have hurt her!!! So did she quit? No, she was told that the task had to be finished!!!! Oh, oh, how about her hurt face??? Oh, well, that is a show and it must go on!!!! What???? I could not believe it!!! What a brave soul!!! Can you believe that in spite of calamity, the partners finished in 4th place!!! Good for you guys!!!!
Jill and Thomas finished first and was rewarded with the Express Pass. Ron and Tony who were the first ones to board the plane to London arrived last in the pit stop and thus was eliminated!!! What happened??? Who knows and who cares????
Well, folks, did we get psyche out to follow the Amazing Race??? Did we get a burst of adrenaline with the tasks like the contestants??? You bet!!! This is one reality show that really have a lot of action, and the team that will remain standing is because of their own stamina and endurance.... no voting from the outside world and their peers!!!!
