What? A review of an eyeglass place? How about the food place? I am taking a little rest from food review. I thought you might want something different besides food.
What I found out is that you have to have money to buy eyeglasses. Is it not like that with everything? You are right. What am I talking about? I mean to say that if you do not have an insurance, be prepared to spend for eyeglasses.
Would you like a little bit of history? Of course. It is kind of interesting. It was founded by Marco Musa in 1988 with his brothers Max and Marc Andrea at Highland Beach, Florida. It operates 64 stores in 23 states. Though his company Vision Care Holdings, Marco also headed the Lasik Vision Institute.
Two pairs of eyeglasses cost $ 178.00. They have 2 glasses for $78.00. Then why did it become $178.00? I will tell you. 2 eyeglasses with plastic frames cost $78.00. Premium anti- reflection coating for left is $25.00, for the right is $25.00. So, for 1 pair, $25 + $25 + $78= $128. The second pair is $128. $128 +$128=$ 256. $256.00 - 78 = $178.00.
This is a no frill eyeglass place. The personnel is good, nice and attentive. You go in, pick your 2 glasses and you sit down. You give your prescription, they take a look at the prescription and your eyeglass choices. Cost and breakdown is given to you and payment is made. Can you just give a down payment? Oooops, sorry, I did not even asked. My reason? If I do not pay now, I might spend the money for something else. Am I right? Of course I am! Then they check if they have it and they take measurements of your eye. At first, they said they have one of the eyeglasses in stock. Upon further measurements, the lenses did not fit the frame. Your hopes for at least one eyeglass went kaput! Oh well, it is better to wait than to have an ill fitting glasses, is it not? They tell you it has to go out and it will take 2 weeks.
Waiting seems forever. Glasses were ordered December 17, 2021. Guess when it arrived? I called once after a week with no luck I called again on December 30,2021, and it was already there. I was glad I called. He wanted us to pick it up the next day, but I insisted to come since it was near our house. It was 6 pm when we arrived at the store. He took it out, gave it to us, placed in a bag and off we went. He did not even let it be worn and tried for him to see if it fits! Oh well. What do you expect with a $78.00 glasses? I beg your pardon? It cost $178.00! That is not cheap! Alright. What do you think should have been done? For the customer to try it and see if it fits. Right? Yes! Thank goodness, the glasses were alright!
Any comments?
That is all for now, folks. Until next time. May God bless all of us!
