SATURDAY TIDBITS SEPTEMBER 12, 2015

Saturday tidbits. First of all, why on Saturday?  Don't you have anything better to do than sit on the computer pecking on the keyboard?  Don't you have any dates? What are tidbits? Goodness gracious! Why are you bombarding me with questions? Yes, you are right...I do not have anything better to do!
Tidbits...any juicy news......

Let me see....Do you know how to correctly measure a cap for the fireplace? One has to climb the roof and measure the length and the width of the fireplace. There are many different fireplace diameters in the store, 9" by 13", 13" by 13" etc....wow! Now you think you are an expert on fireplace caps now? Hehehehe No, there was something new I learned again!

Did you know that eating in a fast food place is not that cheap anymore?  Please do not use the word cheap. What word am I suppose to use? Inexpensive! OMG! Aren't those words synonymous? Yes, but inexpensive has more class! Yuck! I can use any word I want to use! Do you have a problem with that? My, my, my, testy! testy! testy! Why did you not use coupons? I forgot them at home! Oh, well. Lesson learned: Do not leave home without your coupons! Ha! Ha! Ha! El cheapo!

We parted ways with our 2002 Ford Focus ( yes, you got that right! 2002 ) after around 150,000 miles today..... driven around town. long distance travel, work and pleasure. It was sad....for the Focus had been with us through the hot wave or the cold wave, whether sleet, snow, rain or sun. It had been a dependable mode of transportation for us and had been with us for over a decade. Can you imagine that...a small, no nonsense car driven for over a decade. Sure, it had some problems but we were able to get it fix and get it going again and again. Until it's last breath, it managed to drive home and died on us on our garage and not on a street or a forsaken place. Goodbye, our faithful and dependable Focus. I really thank God for sending us a very reliable and a dependable Focus! I hope and pray that our other cars will also be dependable and will last for a long time!

Since it is Saturday and Sunday, it is time to feed our soul.  We went to the Saturday mass and it was raining, by the time the mass was over, the sun was shining brightly! We feel really blessed and hope and pray that everyone will have a blessed, safe and a happy weekend.

May God bless all of us!

FATHER'S DAY JUNE 21, 2015

Father's Day is tomorrow, June 21, 2015, the third Sunday in June. Isn't June 21st the first day of summer? Yes, it is! Nice day, then...right? Right!

Father's Day is a very fitting day to honor all fathers that have sacrificed a lot and gave life to their children. How and what do I remember about my father?  He is the most loving, unselfish and caring person on earth! He is also an avid dancer...boy! can he dance!  I remember him and my mother dancing in our living room while we get the records playing. I do not know why I ended up with two left feet! My father also liked the theater, he would gather us children and off we go to watch a play or a concert in the park. Sigh! memories....good, nice memories.....

He provided well for us, and there were a lot of us, really a lot! I really do not know how he and my mother were able to do it. My mother did not work at all. They wanted us to have the best so we were sent to a private school, and we have a nice, comfortable life. God is really good, that is all I can say. Thank you Mang and Pang for all you have done for us!!!

There were sooooo many, many  happy memories that if I write it all, this page will not be sufficient and I will be here forever. To make a long story short, my father was the best and I really miss him a lot. Oh, oh, here's a tissue.....Stop it! I am sure that others too will be teary eyed when they reminisce their fathers. Are you?

Well, folks, enjoy your father while you can...they will not be here forever... Cherish them, hug them, pamper them, not only during Father's Day but everyday!

Have fun, and have a nice, happy and blessed day!

Happy Father's Day to all fathers!!!!

WEDNESDAY " THE HUMP" DAY JUNE 10, 2015

How did hump day for Wednesday originate? Where did it start? Who started it? OMG! You ask a lot of questions!!! If you are so inquisitive, why don't you research it?  I can't. Why not? Well...look at what time it is....10:30 at night...too late...I need my beauty sleep. My! My! My! What beauty sleep? You are already past that, missy! Yikes! You hurt my feelings! What? Do you have that? He! He! He! I am sorry but I could not resist. Back to my subject...

Why can't Wednesday be called...the pinnacle day?  Too deep of a word!  How about the hill? That does not sound too good, besides you need to say top of the hill...too many words! How about the peak? Peak of what? Someone must have seen a camel and started to utter that word. +Hump day sounds a sleazy, sexy word. It must have originated from a man! Why do you say that? Man usually have a dirty mind that belongs to the gutter. Have you ever heard a woman say anything sleazy or dirty? Of course not! There you go! I rest my case! Okay, does anyone know who, what, where, how the hump day originated for Wednesday?

On the other hand, it just sounds fitting to call it the hump day, because it is the middle of the work week, Monday to Friday. Workers start to climb on Monday and Tuesday and reaches the top of the hill or the peak and start their descent on Thursday and Friday to reach the weekend. That makes sense, does it not? Yes it does, but how about those that have different work days that include Saturdays and Sundays? Then the third day of their work week will be the hump day! How about those that work seven days a week, what is their hump day? The fourth day? Wow! What did I started? I was talking about the normal, regular people that work on Monday to Friday. Do you mean that the other people are not normal? No, that is not what I mean. Help, somebody help me! Ha! Ha! Ha! Goodness gracious, I give up. Why did I even blog about this? Because you are nincompoop! Wow! I have not used that word for a long time! Thank you!

Well, well, well, two more days people, and it is all fun! fun! fun! Sorry, but why wait for the week end to have fun?  Because you can sleep late the next day! Any other questions? Then let us call it quits since it is getting late. Take care and good night!!!

Sunday Yammering

Ha! Does anyone know what yammering is? Today is Sunday, and I a have a "snowlaztitis syndrome." Is there such a word? Tough! There is one now! Snow + laziness = snowlaztitis! Wow!!! Only you can create weird words! But there is a good ring to it! Ha! Ha! Ha! Am I ingenious or what? Never mind, do not answer! Can we make a song with that? Absolutely not!

Why do you have snowlaztitis? Well, look outside...snowfall has been going on since early this morning! It has not stopped, and they are predicting 7 inches by tomorrow morning! It is very cold! I was going to watch a church concert but the snowlaztitis got me instead to blog! I really would just like to curl up in bed and watch something on television, but some channels are not working! Oh, well..so here I am... working on my fingers!!! Lucky you guys! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Okay, let us go back to what yammering is. Can anyone take a wild guess? No? Aw, come on, boys and girls!!! When I tell you what it is, you will all say..." I thought so!" Okay, sound the drums please..... yammering is just another word to chattering, gossiping, muttering, prattling, ranting, spouting, tattling, flipper lip-ping, jawing, orating, conversing, babbling, blabbing, chatting, communicating, screaming, yelling, yakking, jabbering, rambling or talking!! There you go! Do not tell me that I never gave you words in case you need one for the crossword puzzle!!! He! He! He! That is a lot of words for just mere talking! I learn something new everyday!!! Isn't that the truth???

Well, what else are you going to ramble about? Sounds like you are going to introduce someone on a boxing bout! Ha! Ha! Ha! You are insane! The word ramble has the same sound as rumble but different spelling! Wow! That means you are awake and really paying attention to me!!! Wonders never cease!!! Enough...go on with your yakking!!! Yes, mam!!!

Christmas shopping. I cannot believe I was at the mall again yesterday. Had to buy undies and was sooo surprised at how much they were! I take it you have not bought any undies for the last 10 years!! Ha! Ha! Ha! I bought some..2 years ago, in Rome and they were not outrageously high! But I only liked one that I bought there! Seems like if you are looking for something reasonable, go to a cheaper store! Not the mall! That is right.. they were cheaper in the other discount stores! Did you return it at the mall? No. Why?? The lines are long and do not want to go back and forth!

I also wanted to get a bigger purse so I can carry my new released book, "My Journey With Breast Cancer." So, what happened? Goodness gracious!! Cannot find any that is made in good ole USA. I settled for a Liz Claiborne, only because I got a good deal with my $15.00 coupon! Now, I can bring my book everywhere! Hip! Hip! Hooray!

How about boots? Ay..ya...yay....The boots in the upper ritzy stores are really, really expensive...$300 and up! And just to wear it and get it dirtied??? Nope!! You are el cheapo! I do not care!!!

I have babbled too much, I am going to stop now. Why? We are having fun with your blog, why stop now? Because I do not feel ranting anymore! Do you have a problem with that? Yikes! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Testy! Testy! Testy! Okay thanks for giving us another interesting blog!

Have a nice week! Stay safe and keep smiling!

Sunday

What is Sunday??? It is the Day of the Sun, the first day of the week, derived from Egyptian astrology. It is the day between Saturday and Monday. In Christian tradition it is the Sabbath's Day and in many it is the Lord's day!!!

So, what is it, is it the first day of the week, or the last day of the week? I always wondered about that!!! That is a very good question!!! According to international standards ISO, Sunday is the seventh and last day of the week. In Hebrew and Islamic calendars, Sunday is the first day of the week!!!

There is soooo much material about Sunday that is too complicated to absorb in such a short period of time that I am not even going to attempt to write its origin nor its history!! Chicken!!!! You bet!!! Maybe some other time!!!

All I know is that for many Christians, Sunday is a day set aside for worship of God due to the belief that Christ's resurrection was on a Sunday!!! And many important holydays are on Sunday, like Easter Sunday and Palm Sunday. It is a day to abstain from work as much as possible. What are you talking about that??? Nowadays, it seems that for many people, Sunday is just another day of work, not only to doctors and nurses but to many workers in various fields!!!! Gone are those days that people work only on Mondays to Frdays!!! Nowadays, the weekends are a part of a workweek, and people no longer get paid overtime for it!!!! Am I right or not??? Comments, anyone????

What do people do if they have to go to work on a Sunday??? Go to church on Saturday night or Sunday early morning or early night!!!Hmmm... that is easily said than done!!! Well, if there is a will, there is a way!!!! I rest my case!!!! If you cannot go to a church physically, there is always a service on television, which I have heard will soon be a thing of the past!!! I hope not, because when I got sick, I have been turning on the television set for the mass!!! It was really nice!!!! Heaven forbids that they delete this program!!! It will be disastrous for the homebound people!!!!

What do we do now on a Sunday??? Go to church, and enjoy the day!!!! It is a rest day to appreciate everything that God has given to each and everyone of us!!!! We should be very thankful!!!! Come on, relax and enjoy the beauty of everything that is around us!!! Life is short and we cannot afford not to be happy and enjoy life to the fullest!!!! Take a stroll in the woods with someone, have a picnic which might be the last this year since it is getting colder, or go to a cider mill!!!! Ooooohhhh, that is yummy!!! Apple picking, cider and fresh made donuts??? What more can you ask for???

Come on, getup and enjoy this day!!!! May God bless us all!!!!
