FATHER'S DAY JUNE 18, 2016

Wow! It is already June. Time flies soooo fast....where did it go? Having fun so much you lost track of the time. Quick....grab it, before it leaps out. Hahahaha. OMG, that was lame. Kidding aside, it is Father's Day!!! Hip! Hip! Hurray!

I remember my father very much. He was an avid reader, a great dancer ( why did I not get his dancing talent??), a very good provider, a very kind and giving person. I do not know how he and my mother sent their children to private schools and helped with the education of his two brothers. There were also relatives all the time in our modest house who lived with us in the city while they went to school.

My father would take all of us in the park to watch the orchestra play or go to the theater to watch a show. I do not know why I did not get his love for culture. Oh, well.  I also remember him bringing me to his work, I guess the bring your child to work have been a practice a long time ago. We always take vacations to the province ( countryside) every summertime,  going through winding roads either by car or by bus. Those were really unforgettable, happy days that will remain with me forever.

I am always grateful and very thankful to my father who sacrificed a lot and gave us everything. so our future will be a great one.

May all the boys and girls recognize what their fathers do to give them a better life. Hopefully they will cherish the days they have with their father and their family for they will not be here forever.
Oh, my! Am I getting sentimental? Am I going to cry? Hold on...here are some tissues. Hehehehehe...cannot resist.

Well, what are you waiting for....pamper your father today. Take him out to a nice dinner, a movie or just do something nice for him. Like what? Mow the lawn, trim the weeds, give him a hug or anything that is nice. Cherish the days that he is here with you.

So, what are you waiting for???  Hug your father, kiss him, show your love and affection today and everyday of the year!! May God bless all fathers!!!!

FATHER'S DAY JUNE 21, 2015

Father's Day is tomorrow, June 21, 2015, the third Sunday in June. Isn't June 21st the first day of summer? Yes, it is! Nice day, then...right? Right!

Father's Day is a very fitting day to honor all fathers that have sacrificed a lot and gave life to their children. How and what do I remember about my father?  He is the most loving, unselfish and caring person on earth! He is also an avid dancer...boy! can he dance!  I remember him and my mother dancing in our living room while we get the records playing. I do not know why I ended up with two left feet! My father also liked the theater, he would gather us children and off we go to watch a play or a concert in the park. Sigh! memories....good, nice memories.....

He provided well for us, and there were a lot of us, really a lot! I really do not know how he and my mother were able to do it. My mother did not work at all. They wanted us to have the best so we were sent to a private school, and we have a nice, comfortable life. God is really good, that is all I can say. Thank you Mang and Pang for all you have done for us!!!

There were sooooo many, many  happy memories that if I write it all, this page will not be sufficient and I will be here forever. To make a long story short, my father was the best and I really miss him a lot. Oh, oh, here's a tissue.....Stop it! I am sure that others too will be teary eyed when they reminisce their fathers. Are you?

Well, folks, enjoy your father while you can...they will not be here forever... Cherish them, hug them, pamper them, not only during Father's Day but everyday!

FATHER'S DAY JUNE 16, 2013

I cannot believe it is already the sixth month of the year, and lo & behold...it is Father's Day!!!!  Where did the time go???  What do you mean?  Did it just go and run around??  Or it just said..BAM!!  I am out of here!!!  You are sooo corny!!!  Oh, where is the corn...that is yummy!!!  Wait...where did you get the corn???  If it is a GMO corn, I do not want it!  Excuse me, please speak in plain English!  What do you mean?  What is GMO??  It means genetically modified organism, in this case, genetically modified crop where changes were introduced into their DNA by genetic engineering techniques for faster growth and other purposes.  Oh my gosh!!  That is sooo deep!!!  Wait....why are you deviating from your subject, Father's Day???  I do not know, but do you have a problem with that?  Wow!!  Testy!  Testy!  Testy!!!  Back to Father's Day......

Do you remember your father?  I do.  I remember going with him to his place of work, going with him and the whole family watching a play, a show, an orchestra, going on vacation to the rural area going through zigzag roads, to the beach, etc...etc..... Those were really unforgettable days that will remain with me forever.  Those were really, really happy, happy days.  So, boys and girls cherish the days you have with your father and the rest of the family, for your loved ones will not be here forever.  My! My! My!  You are getting sentimental and I do not like it...you are going to make me cry!  Oh, would you like a box of tissues to wipe away your tears???  I  do not know about you!!  You are hopeless! 

Anyway, whatever you do, whether taking him out to dinner, a movie or a party, cherish this moment....for your father will not be here forever!  So, what are you waiting for???  Hug your father, kiss him, show your love and affection today and everyday of the year!! May God bless all fathers!!!!

Father's Day!!! The day set aside to honor the greatest man in your life!!!! Your husband??? Ha! Ha! Ha! No, dingbat!!!! Your father!!!! The cool, affectionate breadwinner, who sings lullaby to you in the wee hours of the night to put you back to sleep even if he has to wake up early in the morning!! The man that is always there when you need him, the man that will protect you and give you the last penny if you need it!!! What do you mean the last penny??? There is nothing you can buy with a penny!!! LOL. That was just a figure of speech!!! You are right!!! Fathers have a very unique role in a person's life. He will go to the very end of the world just to see you happy and successful!!! Does this remind you of your old man???? Excuse me, do not call my father, old man!!! You can call yours that but not mine!!! Don't you have any respect at all of your father??? Oh, oh, here she comes ... in a fighting mood!!!! Sorry. How about if I say your handsome, lovable, cute as a button father??? Oh, my gosh!!! Now, that is too much!!!! Oh, well, I tried!!!

How did Father's Day started?? Oh, oh, we are going to hear the history of Father's Day!!! Can I be excused??? Of course not!!! Did you know that Father's Day was inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day?? The observance started on June 19, 1910 with the efforts of Sonora Smart Dodd who felt that fathers need recognition, just like mothers. People were not enthusiastic with Father's Day, hence, it was not until 1966 that President Lyndon Johnson issued the presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day!!! This year it falls on June 20, 2010!!! It was President Richard Nixon, 6 years later, in 1972, who made it a permanent national holiday. Why did it took so long to acknowledge fathers nationally?? I am not really sure!! Maybe, the fellows think that they are so macho that they do not need any recognition like Mother's Day??? Or they are always on the sideline that they are embarrassed to be on the limelight??? Whatever the reason, or reasons, I am glad that it was finally proclaimed and we are honoring our fathers!!! They sure sacrifice a lot for their children!!!! Don't you all agree??

What do you remember of your father when you were younger??? Very strict??? Lenient?? Loving??? A good provider??? Almost all of the above!! Why almost? Because you cannot be strict and lenient at the same time!!! Does that make sense??? Yes, it does!!! How about those trips and vacations that he takes you?? The trips to the theatre??? Yup!!! Those were happy days!!! Then you got older, and you realized how horrible he has been to you!!! Are you serious??? Ha! Ha! Ha! I got your attention!!! I was just trying to see if you are still following me!!! I am just kidding!!!!

Fathers come in different shapes and size! Oh, oh, what is she thinking now??? Nothing!!! I am just saying that it does not matter if your father is big,small, thin, fat, rich or poor, they are here to guide you every step of the way!!! He tries to give you everything that money can buy!! Not everything!! Okay, let us paraphrase it. Gee, whiz! That is a big word! He! He! He! I just want to let you know that I know some big words! Are you impressed??? Are you kidding??? Please do not answer me with a question!!! Why??? It is annoying!!! Sigh!!! Okay, back to fathers!!! Fathers will give you everything that their wallets can afford!!! How about that their credit cards can afford??? You got me!!! Bingo!!! Ding....ding....ding.....

Today is Father's Day. Whatever you have planned for your father, enjoy him and his company!! Life is too short. He deserves the break today. That sounds like a commercial for a fast food!!! Is that where you are going today??? Ha! Ha! Ha! Anyway, be it mowing the lawn for him, helping him fix something, a fast food carryout or a lavish dinner, have fun!!!! Enjoy the day!!!!
