MOTHER'S DAY MAY 14, 2017

May 14th...it is Mother's day! Wake up everyone......give your mother hugs and kisses. Can you believe it is already the fifth month of the year? Time flies! It really flies! To where? Uh, oh...are you trying to be a smart aleck again? It takes one to know one!!!  Ha! Ha! Ha!  Got ya!!!Kidding aside, you are again deviating from your subject! And the point is? There is no point, silly! We should just talk about Mother's Day! Oh, alright then.

What are you going to do for your mother? Going to the movies? Going to a restaurant? Or just hanging out with her? Flowers, chocolates, clothes, jewelry, cake???  Do mothers really care if she gets a present or not? What does everyone think? What are you talking about?? Do you think mothers would like gifts or just a warm embrace, a warm hug or a kiss? Woohooo!!! That is so sweet!!! You are going to make me throw up! How about a nice errand or just do something nice for her? Like what? Hmmm....how about doing the laundry, cleaning, cooking etc...etc..the list is endless.  Oh, my! Wow! Stop! Do not be carried away. Sounds like , what you need is a maid!!! Hehehehe......Ooooppppsssie........

What do you do if your mother is far away? Call her, greet her...it's only a phone away.....sounds like a song. Really, this is one day especially dedicated for our mother to show her how much you appreciate her and all the things she has done for you. It is a time to tell her how much you love and care for her and without her, you would not become what you are today. Bwahahahahaha....you are going to make me cry! You are sooooo bad!  Why can't you tell her you love her?  Because some families were not raised to show emotions!  It's about time to change that! After all, life is short. We all have to be more affectionate and loving with each other. Yes, madam!! 

Go on, do something nice for your mother today.  Let her enjoy the day that is reserved for her. She deserves a very special recognition....that is too bad....it is only one day in a year!  May everyone continue to shower their mothers with love not only today but throughout the year!!

MOTHER'S DAY MAY 8, 2016

It is Mother's Day!!!  Quick....everyone, give your mother a big kiss and a big hug!!! Treat her to a nice dinner, movie, party that she deserve. But, come to think of it, every mother deserve to be treated nice not only on mother's day but everyday, don't you all think so? Our mothers gave us life and unconditional love. She will always do everything for us and make sacrifices for us. Need I say more?

Mothers are confidants, best friends, drivers, cooks, doctors, clowns, secretaries, to name a few. She is always willing to lend an ear and a helping hand no matter what. 

Please do not neglect your mothers while still on earth.....love her, respect her, care for her....after all, you only have one mother who loves you dearly.

I really miss my mother...she was a pillar in our family and helped all of us. She and my father helped us become of what we are today. Thank you Mang for everything! I love you sooooo much and I miss you sooooo much!!!!

MOTHER'S DAY MAY 10, 2015

Does Mother's Day seems to be getting bigger and more commercialized lately? Seems like people are buying more presents and spending more, which is really good, not only for our mothers but also for the economy. So, what are you griping about?  Did you not get a present today?  Were you not entertained today? Sure!  I really appreciate it all, but the true meaning of mothers day seems to be getting lost in the presents and entertainment. What do you want? Don't you not want to be pampered today? That's it! What's it? Don't mothers want to be pampered not only today but every day? What? Now, now, you are asking a lot, missy. People are busy and have lives too! You cannot expect your children to check on you and pamper you everyday...that is too much!  You expect too much! Maybe, maybe not. What do you guys think? Any comments?

It is not me. I sometimes see and read about parents living alone and not even one relative comes by and checks on them. May be the relatives live far away and cannot afford to see them. That can be true. Or maybe, the parents have become mean to the children or vice versa and have parted ways. What do you suggest? I am not sure. If the relatives live far from each other and cannot afford a plane ride or to drive, that is really a dilemma. What do you think they should do?

But if the problem is they have not talked to one another for quite sometime, perhaps, the children should take the initiative to be the first to contact the parents. Parents gave you life! Besides, life is too short to hold a grudge and not to talk to love ones. Forgive and forget!

I really miss my mother soooo much. I owe everything to her and my father, without them I would not be what I am today. Happy Mother's Day, Mang!

Anyway, children.....call your mother.....pamper them today especially, but pamper them whenever you can. After all, they gave you life. Honor them, love them, cherish them today, tomorrow and forever.

Hi....here I am on Mother's Day, trying to write something.  Well, well, well, it's about time, missy that you make your fingers useful again.  Why?? Did you missed me??  Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!  You guys missed me.....I do not know what to say.... Booo...hooo...I was missed....Enough!!  Do your thing!  Sheesh, I was just having fun....Excuse me.....

Have you hug your mother today?  Have you kissed her and told her that you love her?  No??  Well, what are you waiting for??  Christmas???  Ha! Ha! you are sooo funny!  Am I ?  I am not laughing.  Can you see that I am serious??  Okay, okay, I heard you.  No, do it now!!!  Wow!! You are like a general.  Well, I mean it, tell your mother, or anyone that is taking care of you and dear to you that you love her, for life is short and you might miss the lost opportunity.  Yes, madam!!!

What are you going to do for your mother today? Perhaps, a dinner, movie or shower of chocolates, flowers, cards, loving note. Wow!  For a while I thought, you said to give her a shower.  Ha! Ha! Ha! Are you nuts???  You are nincompoop, it looks like you do not see all the words.  My goodness, you are sooo crazy!  Thank you!!!  You thought I will get mad?? Not me, kiddo!

Anyway, seems we are always steering out of our topic.  What??  Where oh where is our car???  Where are we going???  I think it is hopeless talking to you.  I give up!!!  Why???  A winner never quits!!!  What did I win???  See, I got ya!!!  Ha! Ha!  Yup!!!  Wink...wink.....

Let us be serious now.  I wish to take this opportunity to wish all the mothers and all the women who have taken care of their children a very safe, happy and blessed day.  You all are a very special group of people and God loves all of you!!

Mother's Day 2011

Tomorrow is Mother's Day. How are you celebrating the day with your mother? Will you be treating her to a nice dinner in a restaurant? Or are you making dinner at home? Perhaps a carry out? Are you showering her with flowers, chocolates, a plant, a jewelry, a purse? Are you crazy? I wish I could but with today's economy, just a little something inexpensive. I am sure the mothers out there will appreciate anything...even just a greeting coming from the heart!

I wish my mother is still alive today. I miss her dearly and I am sure all my brothers and sisters do too! I can just reminisce how great she was...her company, her conversations, her cooking, her playfulness, her sense of humor, her endless sacrifices so that we will have a bright future, and most of all, her unconditional love. That is right, a mother gives to her children anything and everything without any qualms. She will fight and protect her children without regard to her own safety! I can go on and on and on about how our mothers are so wonderful. Without our mothers there would not be any great men and women out there, don't you all agree?

HIP! HIP! HOORAY TO ALL MOTHERS!!! YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL, PATIENT, KIND, LOVING AND WONDERFUL!!! THANK YOU!!!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day! What is Mother's Day? It is a day set aside nationally to honor the greatest woman in our life.... our mothers!!!!!

Do you know when it started? Where and when??? I do not really care!!! Some people might say that it is a concoction of businesses to get more business in the form of candies, jewelries, flowers and dinners in restaurants! That is right! These businesses are very busy on this day! Can you blame the children for wanting to lavish their mothers with gifts, even just for one day in a given year? Of course not!!! Mothers deserve every bit of it and more! Mothers are doctors, nurses, head chef, mediator, accountant and other things combined into one! Mothers do their best on what God has given to them! Do you agree?

Mother's Day was not a concoction of businesses! It was started by Anna Marie Jarvis following the death of her mother, Ann Jarvis on May 9,1905, but the first official celebration was not until May 10, 1908. On May 8, 1914, the US Congress passed a law designating the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. The proclamation was issued on May 9,1914 by President Woodrow Wilson, declaring the first national Mother's Day as a day for American citizens to honor the mothers whose sons died in the war. Why are you telling me the history of Mother's Day? Who cares??? We just want to celebrate it!!! Does everyone agree with me, or you guys want to know everything there is to know about Mother's Day??? Nope! Leave it at that. Okay, I guess there is no history buffs here. Are you sure you do not want to know where the International Mother's Day Shrine is? I will tell you anyway. Oh, no! This is crazy. Oh, well. Where is it? It is in Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia where the first Mother's Day celebration was held! It is now a National Historic Landmark!!! See, now you know. Next time you visit West Virginia, do not forget to go and see the landmark! We learn something new everyday, is it not??? Life is always about learning something everyday!!!!

Did you know the flowers that represent Mother's Day? Roses? Lilies? No! Carnations. Since it is the favorite flower of her mother, Anne Jarvis delivered 500 carnations on the first celebration of Mother's Day in 1908. Since then, red carnations are designated for living mothers, and white, for deceased mothers. Did you know that??? No, I thought a carnation is a carnation! How about the other colors? I do not know and I do not care. They are very pretty and I will take or buy any colors I liked!!! Wow!!! That is quite an attitude you have there, missy! Why??? It is because you are shoving to us the past history! Who cares to hear about all of this??? Everybody agrees or what? I just thought it might be interesting to know a little background of Mother's Day! Okay, now we know! Yippeee!!!! Thank you very much for enlightening us!

Is Mother's Day celebrated in other parts of the world? Yes, they do but not in the same way we do! Also, the dates are different from ours! Do you think our Mother's Day celebration is more commercialized? Perhaps. We, as a society,were brought up to the material aspect, so we show our appreciation to our mothers with lavish gifts! How about now, with economy down, do children still spend a lot for their mothers? That is a good question! I am assuming that the business is probably down quite a bit. Anyone care to answer that? How do we celebrate Mother's Day in our family? Some take their mom to a delicious dinner, and others give their moms, a card, or a present. What would mothers like to receive on their special day? Probably just a hug and knowing that you are loved by your children!!! You are full of, you know what! You are sooo sentimental! Boo Hoo!!! You are going to make me cry!!! Don't you want a massage, a trip, or jewelry?? Not really.... It is the thought that counts! Phoey! That is such nonsense. Admit it, you want to receive some worldy riches also!!! Maybe, but like I said, there are some moms that will agree with me. Be simple! Just a kiss, a hug and a good deed for that day will be all that some mothers want!!! No expensive gifts! Just what is in your heart... that will last day after day after day!

Children, make sure you tell your moms how you love and appreciate her for everything she has done for you! Do not wait until it is too late!! The time is now!!! Seize the day and enjoy each other!
